Sawyer Burton Performed at Blackburn College's Annual Madrigal's Dinner

2012 Dec 3

On November 16 and 17, Blackburn College held its annual Madrigal Dinner. The performance took audience members back to the medieval era and they were treated to a fine dining meal. Members of the Blackburn Voices Ensemble Group and other cast members performed carols and Christmas songs. Elizabeth Zobel, the choir director at Blackburn, stated, "The dinner was very successful. There were quite a few audience members who come every year who commented that this was one of the best they had seen in years. The singers did a fine job with their mini-concerts and made a big splash with their rendition of "The Twelve Days of Christmas". As usual, the audience had lots of fun interacting with the singers and actors, both in the note-passing and in their role following the comet during the skit. The skit, "May the Face Be with Thee" was a rousing success. There were a couple of students who came and said they had so much fun, they didn't know why they hadn't come in previous years!"

The performance included Sawyer Burton, a Sophomore, from Grafton, IL, played one of the Lords of Songe and helped with production.
