2012 May 21

Gretchen Boucher, daughter of Paul and Molly Boucher, from Litchfield, was awarded the Gideon Scholarship from Blackburn College, Carlinville, IL. A Psychology major, Boucher has been accepted to Blackburn College for the 2012-13 academic year.

Founded in 1837, Blackburn College is a four-year, Presbyterian-related, co-educational liberal arts college located between Springfield, IL and St. Louis, MO. The College is one of just seven Work Colleges in the nation, and the only one with a student-managed Work Program. Blackburn combines a rigorous academic program with 11 NCAA Division III athletic teams, more than 30 campus clubs and student organizations, and a beautiful small-town campus. Blackburn's tuition is the lowest of all private, four-year residential colleges in Illinois and among the lowest in the United States.
