Dominique Byots Finished Blackburn College's 2012 Soccer Season

Blackburn College's 2012 Women's Soccer season came to a close at the end of October. Among this year's roster was Dominique Byots, a Sophomore, who received the Co-Defensive MVP award, from Gillespie, IL.

With the team's season ending with a record of 4-11-1, the team's abilities and competitiveness has progressed throughout the season. Aydin Gonulsen, the head coach, stated, "The women's soccer team had a successful season. The women's team had some key victories against MacMurray College at their Homecoming and against Spalding University, Kentucky, one of the better teams in the Conference. The highlights of the season were when whey beat Principia College and Lindenwood University, Bellville, who were the defending National Champions for American Athletic Conference."

Founded in 1837, Blackburn College is a four-year, Presbyterian-related, co-educational liberal arts college located in Carlinville, Illinois. One of the seven work colleges in the U.S., Blackburn is the only one with a student managed Work Program. Blackburn was ranked by US News as the 2012 #2 Best Value College in the Midwest; and placed #65 in The Washington Monthly's ranking of Baccalaureate Colleges. The school remains the most affordable, residential private liberal arts college in the state.
