2012 Dec 4

Blackburn College's 2012 Men's Soccer season ended on October 28, with a 0-7 loss against Westminster College. Among this year's roster was Prince Koroma, a Senior, who received the Honorable Mention All Conference award, from St. Louis, MO.

With the team's season ending with a record of 7-11, the team's abilities and competitiveness has progressed throughout the season. Aydin Gonulsen, the head coach, stated, "Both the men's and women's soccer teams had a successful season. The men's team suffered some key injuries with prevented them reaching the conference finals, but the highlights of the season were when they beat Principia College and Lindenwood University, Bellville, who were the defending National Champions for American Athletic Conference."

Founded in 1837, Blackburn is a four-year, Presbyterian-related, co-educational liberal arts college located in Carlinville, Illinois. One of the seven work colleges in the U.S., Blackburn is the only one with a student managed Work Program. Blackburn was ranked by US News as the 2012 #2 Best Value College in the Midwest; and placed #65 in The Washington Monthly's ranking of Baccalaureate Colleges. The school remains the most affordable, residential private liberal arts college in the state.
